This course is fashioned after our successful EQ50 Equine Anatomy Precourse Distance Study course. If you are planning on attending our signature  CN3000 Canine Body Worker ® Certification course this is required precourse study to prepare you for the certification course.

 

This online course is now free to anyone wishing to broaden their knowledge of veterinary terminology, behavior and the musculoskeletal system of the dog.  You will also find it very helpful if taking courses from any program including Caninology\'s courses in anatomy, neurology, biomechanics and any other modality for dogs.

 

Signing up for this course now allows you the luxury of studying well ahead of time if you intend to take courses in the future or if you are looking for a review. With the expanded CN3005 course, we have determined it takes around 100 hours to complete. This CN3005 course also offers 50 continuing education hours for members of the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (Human State Certification).

 

Course Content: canine communication and behavior, veterinary and anatomy terminology, directional terms, bony landmarks and surface markings, skeletal system, joints and movement and the canine muscular system

PLEASE NOTE: Upon registering you will receive a computer generated invoice but the course content has to be sent manually by the office. This may take up to one business day. You will also receive via email documents from the Equinology/Caninology office in regards to course criteria and course content usage. Additional Learning Activities for each of the five sections will be uploaded as files on the Canine Anatomy Yahoo group site as they are completed. These files as well as the Yahoo group are limited to registered students. Once you are registered you will be sent an invitation to the group. You will be able to talk amongst yourselves in the group and also ask questions. Beverly Adams (course instructor) and Debranne Pattillo will be monitoring the group should you have any questions directly in regards to the course material.   

A video to support palpating surface anatomy is still in the works. Once done you will be able to access it anytime on You Tube. It can be located by typing Equinology in the search box. Currently there are two videos up in regards to palpating the surface anatomy of the horse. These videos are now available for your viewing and were done by the participants of the EQ101: Equine Body Worker® Certification Course and the EQ103: Advanced Equine Massage Techniques Level One at Flying Cloud Farm, Petaluma, CA in April and May of 2009. They stayed after class several days to show you the bones against the horse and then how to locate the surface anatomy! Illustrations also help the material (please note there is no audio on these videos).

This is a self paced group. You can take as long as you wish; there is no need to be in front of a computer at a scheduled time. When you complete the course an exam will be emailed to you. No worries! You have 3 attempts to pass.  

A $25 charge is added to this free course to cover handling costs of certificates of completion for student\'s documentation which includes proof of continuing education for NCBTMB members (this will be sent via email), processing paperwork and registration for the course (copyright notices and credit card fee) and server charges to send files to the group as well as numerous other costs the Equinology office incurs to enable you to participant. The admin fee we charge is actually less than expenses we acquire for each participant. If you do not have a credit card you can send a money order for the amount. We will not give you our banking account information due to security reasons!
